The British Czech and Slovak Association was founded by Alexander Dubcek in 1990 and became a charity five years later.

The BCSA  was set up to raise awareness in Britain of all aspects of Czech and Slovak life – history, politics, literature, arts and economics.

The association produces ‘British Czech and Slovakia Review’  quarterly for members. The BCSA website also has a members’ area.

BCSA holds ‘Get to Know You’ social evenings on the second Wednesday of the month at Czech and Slovak House in West Hampstead.

Regular social activities are held at the Czech and Slovak embassies, usually followed by a wine reception. These are free to members, £10 for others.

The annual fundraising garden party is held at the Czech and Slovak embassies in June. In November there is an annual dinner at a London hotel. Although these are fundraising events, members get a discount.
