Enid Blyton (1897-1968) was a children’s author, whose books sold more than 600 million copies worldwide, in 90 languages. She is best known for her Noddy. Famous Five and Secret Seven series.
You may not have read any of her books as a child, because after her death, her books fell into disfavour. Enid Blyton’s language wasn’t always politically correct. On the other hand, the character ‘George’ in the Famous Five series is .. SPOILER ALERT … a girl.
