‘Bonfire to Brexit’ at 9th Pulse of Europe

We had an excellent turnout for today’s Pulse of Europe, Bath for Europe’s ninth since introducing this event to the UK in March. Pulse of Europe is a pan-European celebration of the values of the European Union.

Rain and cold could not dampen the spirits of our marchers, with many familiar faces and a number of new ones, who brought colour and joyful noise to the centre of Baths. Many marchers wore their Bath Berets. They chanted and rang bells, stopping for short speeches and a violin serenade on Southgate and a symbolic torching of Brexit.

The group wound up at the Friends Meeting House on York Street for tea, coffee and cake and a lively townhall meeting. We heard moving stories and many new connections were made. We were delighted hear…
