Agnes Grunwald-Spier MA MBE was sent to the Budapest Ghetto with her mother, aged five months old. Liberated at six months old, she arrived in Britain aged four years old.

She is a Founder Trustee of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and was a member od the Board of Deputies of British Jews for fifteen years. She was awarded an MBE in 2016.

Agnes has an MA in Holocaust Studies from the University of Sheffield. She has two more published works, The Other Schindlers: Why Some People Chose to Save Jews in the Holocaust (2010, The History Press) and Who Betrayed the Jews ? The Realities of Nazi Persecution in the Holocaust (2016).
